GIVEAWAY: Häagen Dazs Ice Cream!

Who doesn't love Ice Cream right? My exact thought after being invited down to the Häagen-Dazs store on Leicester Square to try out the new Easter Creation that was released last week on Saturday!

A frozen chocolate egg filled with an ice cream flavour of your choice, with a small circle cut out and filled with another flavour! With 3 scoops on the side and a selection of toppings and sauces you definitely won't hungry and I'm sure you can see why this is aimed as a sharing desert for two!

I got the chance to create my own, and my creative side either did or didn't come out when putting it together. It definitely wasn't neat and my delicate side definitely didn't come out but boy did it taste good...

A little melted, but here's my creation. A squirt of Belgian Chocolate Sauce scraped across the plate clearly was not enough so I went on to write S&D as a little homage to the blog. Onto the Ice Cream and the nut fiend in me filled the egg with Macadamia Nut Brittle with a scoop of Chocolate Midnight Crunch. Nuts and chocolate, what's more to love? I put a scoop of the Mango Sorbet on the side and as you can tell it got a little melted and moved around a little... but it adds to the design, right? Haha! I popped a selection of the toppings across the place and then I let loose on the glitter! I opted for gold glitter, and wasn't very delicate when attempting to sprinkle it across the plate and so ended up with chunks of glitter dust. But in a way, I kind of loved it. Who cares how it looks anyway when it tastes that good!

You can go and try this creation out for yourself at Häagen Dazs on Leicester Square for £8 and it'll be available until the 25th of April! The perfect easter treat? Maybe, or maybe this is...

I'm running a giveaway for your chance to with £50 worth of Häagen Dazs Ice Cream, that equals to 10 tubs! You'll be sure to have a happy friends and family, indulge over Easter and through into warmer weather. All the details of how to enter are below, unfortunately it is UK based only but none the less, good luck and enjoy!

The Battle of the Eyeliners

I'm an eyeliner wearer and I always have been. It was one of the first pieces of makeup I ever wore. I remember I used to wear it just on my waterline, with virtually no other makeup. The thought makes me cringe so badly... Why did we do these things? Eyeliner has travelled through my makeup loving history and is still as strong as it ever was, I just hope I wear it a little better than I used to! So, we get to which eyeliners do I use? First things first, I will say that liquid eyeliner and I do not mix. Bad, bad memories. I can't say I've often tried to use it on myself but it was when I tried to use it on someone else, that's where the awful memory comes from. Mental block maybe? Anyway, I don't really feel as though I'm missing out as I'm more than happy with the ones I can use. So, what eyeliner works best for what you want?

The Gel Eyeliner

I love my No7 Limited Edition Gel Eyeliner and I love the tiny brush it comes with. For use above my top lashes and I often use it when I'm feeling a little bit of a flick. It lasts forever and if I need a makeup look to last, then I will always go for this but only for the upper lash line.

The Pencil Eyeliner

Barry M's Intense Black Eyeliner Pen is a retractable eyeliner pencil in a super intense matte black shade. I've used this for as long as I can remember and no matter how many I try I always go back to this one. It doesn't last forever but it isn't so bad as I love the effect it gives. It lasts longer with a primer underneath too! I like using this in the upper lash line when I don't feel like spending the time on the precision of a Gel liner. For the waterline I love using the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Pervision*, it's super black and lasts well on the waterline. The best I've tried, although I don't think it works well on the upper lash line.

The Pen Eyeliner

Possibly one of the easiest to apply eyeliners, and one I always seem to go back to. I hate having to spend too long on my makeup if I'm just not in the mood so this one is perfect for those days. I love the Cosmetics A La Carte Stay Put Intense Eyeliner Pen*, but any other eyeliner pen will work just as well. I love to use these to help create the cat eye effect that I'm usually so bad at. If I'm struggling sometimes I will use this pen as a sort of guide and then will sometimes go over the top of it with a more intense black liner. Super easy, super effective!

I love all of these kinds of eyeliners for totally different uses. What are your favourite eyeliners?

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Dupe

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is my all time favourite moisturiser, I've been in love ever since I picked up a lot of sample sizes with a magazine. I bought a lot. Once I got though my collection of the samples, my skin just didn't thank me for not using it anymore. I had to pick up the £32 pot of moisturiser, I just couldn't be without the beautiful hydrating gel moisturiser and since I've been on the hunt for a similar texture. I never thought I'd find something close to this and although it isn't the same, The Body Shop's Vitamin E Moisture Serum comes close. I like using it in between uses of the Clinique moisturiser to make it last that bit longer. It has a similar texture and although it doesn't hydrate as much I do still like it. My skin doesn't fare too well when I use too many products so although I do sometimes use a moisturiser after this I don't usually and I find that my skin is fine with it that way.

If you know anything that is a more affordable version of the Clinique Moisture Surge moisturiser then please let me know!

What is your favourite moisturiser?

Relax with Origins Sensory Therapy Peace of Mind

Origins is a brand that I am continuously falling in love with, every time I try a new product I fall in love and of course my collection of their products is growing because of it. The Origins Sensory Therapy Peace of Mind was something I ordered with my now favourite Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask to push the price over the free delivery mark. I'm not sure why I decided to pick this up over everything else on the site, in fact its a little unlike me, but anyway I did and I can't say I own anything else like this. To use, you pump out a bit of the product and rub it into your temples, earlobes and the back of your neck. The scent is really calming and on application you feel a slight tingling sensation which is weirdly relaxing. I can't really say whether it makes me feel relaxed because I think it should make me feel that way, but either way it does. It can help with relaxing before sleeping too. I don't use this as often as I should though which honestly is such a shame. Its such a small bottle and I'm often finding myself wondering where I put it or forgetting about it completely. I will put this on my bedside table as I know I could make use of this when perhaps my anxiety is as good as it could be or I'm not sleeping too well because I know that when I have used it I do actually really like it.

How I Store My Yankee Candle Samplers & Wax Tarts

As my Yankee Candle collection is ever growing I was on the hunt for a way to store them, while still looking pretty? I picked up this cake stand in the Boots sale and fell in love instantly. I'm so happy with it, but I wasn't sure what to do with it. I put two and two together and gave this a go and voila, it's cute right? Any cake stand would work I'm sure.

How do you store your Yankee Candles?

My MAC Palette

I never used to get the whole MAC thing, I liked what I'd tried but I just felt it was a little overpriced. I do still think that but I'm in love with the shadows and my palette is just, well it's perfect. I've got a 4 pan palette and the shades I've got are Cranberry, Sumptuous Olive, All That Glitters and Satin Taupe. My most used are All That Glitters and Satin Taupe, I love using All that Glitters all over the lid and then using Satin Taupe in the crease and outer corners, so simple and so pretty. I had decided not to go for all nudes and brown shades and that's where Cranberry and Sumptuous Olive come in. Shades I wouldn't usually go for but they are so pretty and are a great addition to my collection.

What are your MAC shadow favourites?

VIDEO | Look Again SS14

So I decided to bite the bullet and film another video and thought I'd crack out my new camera and film a VLOG. What better than taking you all around with me to the Look Again SS14 Press Day with Swimwear 365! I also filmed a couple of videos while I was there talking about my favourite bits from each collection, so if you want to know more it'd be worth watching the videos below too!

Let me know what you thought of the VLOG below. I was very nervous and am hoping that I'm not so bad next time. I had a minor panic before filming each time...

What were your favourite pieces from the collection?

The I Heart... Series By Lindsey Kelk

A little bit of a different post on the S&D today and something that I can't imagine will come round that often as it takes me quite a while to get through a book but I really just wanted to express my love for this series of books with you all. Lindsey Kelk's 'I Heart' series is great. A brilliant, easy-to-read chick lit book and honestly, I love it. I'm currently half way through I Heart Christmas and I am loving it just as much as the others. I'm always so eager to know what Angela is getting up to. If you are a like an easy girly read then I'd definitely recommend you get on this, it's super funny!

Have you read any of the I Heart series yet? What are you currently reading?

The Body Shop Honeymania Eau De Toilette

The Body Shop's Honeymania Eau De Toilette smells amazing as does the rest of the range. It's not as honey scented as you would expect and has a lot of floral notes running through it. I'm in love and had to pick up the perfume to add to my collection. The Body Shop's Eau De Toilette's are super affordable, when you think about the prices in comparison to the ones we buy elsewhere, Marc Jacobs I'm looking at you, but really they're amazing. If you are a lover of the sweet floral scent like Marc Jacobs Daisy or Victor and Rolf Flowerbomb then this is definitely worth a sniff next time you're passing a Body Shop.

Have you tried anything from the Honeymania range?

Yankee Candle Sampler Votives

You'll all know by now how much I love home fragrance and that my love for Yankee Candles are forever growing. Yankee Candle Sampler Votives are the perfect way to try out a fragrance before purchasing the larger sized candles, or as I do it, buy a lot of them to burn at the same time. The scents aren't too strong which is why I like them, although I do think my sense of smell may be a little off as more often than not with scented candles I can't usually smell them, weird I know. I wouldn't really say I've found a favourite scent as of yet as I usually just pick up ones I like the smell of at the time. I usually prefer a more sweet and fruity scented candle although over Christmas I did like a spicy scent every now and again. As you can see from the pictures, all of the ones I currently have are all Christmas scents and I do have quite the collection and I'm trying not to pick up any before these ones are used up. They are lovely, and super affordable and honestly I couldn't recommend them more. If you're just starting to get into candles or are a lover already and just looking for some new ones to pick up then this is perfect for that!

What are your favourite Yankee Candle scents?

The Easy Eye

We're always looking for an easy makeup look and I think I've got it down to a tee for you here. I love eye makeup but all the blending and perfecting can sometimes take so long so I've laid out a quick and easy guide for a beautiful look.

The Maybelline Eyestudio 24hr Colour Tattoo Cream Gel Eye Shadows are perfect for a quick eye look, I've chosen On and On Bronze as it's such a wearable bronze shade. I would blend some of it across my lid using my finger. It's so beautiful and so easy to apply. I'd then go in with an eyeliner pen, I'd use the Cosmetics A La Carte* one to line the top lid with a small flick. To finish off the look a lot of black mascara is needed and I think that the Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara is a great one for this. Super black and super voluminous, I love it!

This is one of my go-to looks when I'm in a hurry. What's yours?
