Summer Ready Lips

I don't often opt for a glossy set of lips but there's just something about the new additions to the Bourjois Rouge Edition range that has got my head turning and well, my lips glossy. The latest launch from the range are the Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque's* and as you can see from the pictures and the gorgeous packaging that they look a whole lot like their matte sisters; the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet's.

The new liquid lipstick collection boasts a whole range of shades ranging from lighter, nuder and shades for day-today to more bold, bright and deeper shades for when you fancy a bit more oomph. At first I felt like a lot of the shades weren't that wearable for a bright lip kinda gal like me, but there's just something about the finish that makes me actually get use out of all of them. I know right, ME wearing a PINK LIP. Shocker! But it's gorgeous, and I actually feel as though I can get away with it, and the rest... You can see the entire range of shades from 1 through to 8 above with swatches.

You apply these Bourjois liquid lipsticks like you would a lipgloss (or the sister range, the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet's) with the doe foot applicator. You can apply enough product to pack a punch or you can blend it out with your finger to get something a bit more subtle. I love doing both of these depending on what else I've gone for on my face. The finish starts off super glossy like a lipgloss, it feels super hydrating on your lips and I absolutely love the feeling of these! The best bit though? The colour payoff doesn't end there, once the gloss has gone, it leaves a little stain on your lips so you're still left with the colour you applied earlier. Easy for re-application or you could just leave it as is.

I'm such a big fan of these and I can tell already that I'll be getting a tonne of use out of these throughout spring and summer. In love!

What shade would you go for?

  1. These look so good!! I normally prefer a matte lip too because I hate when your hair gets stuck to the gloss haha! I'll have to grab some of these for summer : ) xx

  3. I'd probably go for a medium pink, something that can add a pop of colour without being too in you face :) I've still not tried the original formula of these!

  5. This look gorgeous! I'm quite tempted by the darkest nude shade for a bit of muted umph.

  7. I've been contemplating getting these! They look perfect for Summer. It's so good to hear that even though they're gloss the colour doesn't fade too quickly! Great post. I love your photos too!
