The Drink: Cherry Sourz

A little bit of a different post on S&D today but I just felt like changing it up a bit. I wanted to tell you all about my drink of choice, the drink that every one of my friends seems to find hilarious, Cherry Sourz and Coke. This is always my pre-drink of choice and I can't even tell you how much I love it. It goes down so easily and tastes amazing! I'm not usually a lover of anything Cherry based but for some reason with Sourz it's different. It's not the only thing I'll drink but if they have it in a bar, then it is definitely what I'll drink. All I can say is I have quite the stash in my little alcohol cove in my room (ahem, 4 or 5 bottles... oops!) and I'm not ashamed to say it. One thing I will say is that this drink wont be for everyone as it is super sweet, but for those of you with a sweet tooth, then I'd say give it a try. It's also great as a shot.

So that's the student in me's blog post... I just couldn't resist sharing it with you all and expressing my love! Super tasty...

What is your drink of choice?

Introducing Greenland

The first thing you'll want to know about me is how much I love a fruity scent when it comes to body products. The Body Shop Satsuma shower gel turned me and now I'm obsessed, so when these arrived through my door, well I couldn't have been more excited!

Greenland is a total new brand to me and so is their Fruit Emotions range included here. As excited I was about the fruit scent, I was a little apprehensive about the mixture. I love coconut and mandarin separate, but together? I didn't know what to expect.

I can't explain it properly but honestly, they're lovely. All of the products are super moisturising and it does what it sets out to - add moisture. I like the bullet format the lip balm is and I like the fact that it isn't tinted - makes a nice change from the colour I always seem to be adding to my lips.

They're affordable products and you really get a great deal here. They're a nice treat and I know for sure I'll enjoy using them up.

Have you tried any products from Greenland

Yankee Candle Wax Tarts

I'm not sure if you'll have realised quite yet but I've got a new obsession and it's to do with anything home fragrance related and of course Yankee Candle have something to do with that. I love popping over to their stands or stores and having a good sniff of all the scents and subsequently falling in love with all of the scents, and of course needing to buy them all. That's normal right?

I loved the Yankee Candle wax tarts, the fact that they are so affordable always makes me head straight over to them first. It's okay, with the wax tarts, it's okay and affordable to own all the scents! I needed to get me a wax tart burner and stat to stop me from buying all the samplers (only slightly more expensive, but a less intense in scent) so I headed over to eBay and bought the cheapest (and okay) looking one I could find. I think it cost me only a few pounds? Well, I won't go on about that too much as I don't love the burner, I don't think it's that nice looking and once I've got a bit more money in my purse then I will be picking up a new one. I have my eyes on this beautiful white owl burner, it's beautiful right?

None the less, the one I have will do and it allows me to burn all these beautiful scented tarts, I'm currently burning the Mandarin Cranberry scent and enjoying it so much! The scent fills the room and I really mean that. I've got quite the collection and honestly everytime I see them, I expect I'll pick up another, I just can't quite help myself...

Do you have a candle addiction like me? Tell me all your favourites!

2013 Favourites: The Skincare

I think I saved the best for last, skincare is my absolute favourite. I've got quite the collection and although I do love trying out new products, these are the ones I always go back to and my skin just loves them. I have normal to dry skin for reference.

To remove my makeup, I used to always use the dreaded face wipes as honestly I didn't know any better. My eye's are super sensitive and can't deal with much on them and as I'm a lover of eye makeup, I need something to take it off easily before cleansing but then I found this, the L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution, it takes my makeup off easily and my eye's can deal with it! For cleansing the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish is beautiful. Super gentle and really creamy, it cleanses my skin while keeping it hydrated. I then always go for the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic along with the Liz Earle Eyebright, I love using this when my eyes are feeling sensitive or a bit sore, along with when I feel as though I'm having a slight allergic reaction. It is super soothing and one of my all time favourite products. I will always repurchase this. On to the moisturisers, my two favourites are the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief and the Origins High Potency Night-a-mins, they are really moisturising and work great with my skin. My favourite moisture mask is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, super moisturising and smells amazing. I also love the Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque, really great clay mask!

That's the end of my 2013 favourites series, better late than never right? I hope you liked the series. Let me know what your 2013 favourites were in the comments below!

2013 Favourites: The Makeup Brushes

Along with Makeup experimentation, 2013 was the year my makeup brush love began. Real Techniques was definitely to blame this. The Core Collection was my first, and the buffing brush is my definite favourite brush of the year. The Starter Set came next and the base shadow brush was my favourite for that. It is perfect for blending eye shadows. I love blending my concealer in with the Zoeva 110 Face Shape brush, although I can imagine it has some other great uses too! Eco Tools brushes too were another favourite, I bought a set off of eBay after recommendation from Fee, I can't tell if they're real or not but honestly I couldn't care. They're so soft, and are some of the greatest brushes I've ever tried.

I'm currently on the hunt to expand my brush collection and would love to hear all of your recommendations! What were your 2013 makeup brush favourites?

2013 Favourites: The Hair Care

Hair Care isn't something I'm that big on. I'm more of a wash my hair the night before, let it dry naturally and get up and go kinda girl. After going for chop, I've noticed I can't really do this anymore and so my GHD's have definitely come into use. Firm favourites from what I have been using in 2013 have been the Dove's Intensive Repair Conditioner, I've got through so many of these this year and rightly so. They're great! I love the Headmasters Big Glam Hair Style Extend Volumising Dry Shampoo, so much better than Batiste, even though I do use it religiously, I've just found a new love with this. I'd often use it to just volumise my hair before a night out or in the morning. It just gave my hair that bit extra, and I loved it. It's brought on this new love of hair products and I just want to try more out.

What we're your 2013 Hair favourites?

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Cheek Gelée in Poppy Paradise

When the lovely Ellie told me that she was going to America and asked me whether I wanted her to get me anything my beauty blogger mind went crazy. I wanted everything. Somehow, out of nowhere I managed to stay restrained and ask her to pick me up the one thing that has been on my wishlist ever since I saw the lovely EstĂ©e rave about it. The ever so dreamy Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Cheek GelĂ©e in Poppy Paradise, a warm toned hot pink gel blusher, was the only product I decided I needed. A gel texture works so well with my skin and I just new that this would be perfect for me and boy was I right. The colour looks super intense but actually it is so subtle and I love that about it. I hate an over done blush look and so this couldn't be better for that reason. It is super hydrating and really easy to apply. I literally just dab it on with my finger and blend and that's it. Super easy and super beautiful, my kind of beauty regime!

What would be on your American Beauty Wishlist?

Radical Skincare Age-Defying Exfoliating Pads

I think we all know by now that I love trying out new skincare products, it's becoming quite the obsession. I'm pretty new to the idea of an exfoliating toner,I mean I've only just got my hands on the ever so hyped Pixi Glow Tonic. Radical Skincare takes the idea of the exfoliating toner one step further and makes it even easier to use as the cotton pads are already soaked with the product.

The Radical Skincare Age-Defying Exfoliating Pads* help to remove dead skin cells while using it's anti aging properties. I wouldn't say I love it for the anti aging, but I love it because it really makes my skin feel as though it's helping. It makes my skin feel so clean and so fresh and super vibrant. They aren't the cheapest product in the world but I like them none the less, I will be making sure to save them up for those days I really need it! I wouldn't say it would take the place of a beaded exfoliator, but I would probably alternate between using them, or perhaps I would use the pads alongside a more gentle scrub. I love the packaging, there is something about it that just feels super luxurious and honestly, when you have a product that you feel is luxurious it feels even more special when you use it! A great product that I look forward to using up, but am dreading the day they're all gone...

Have you tried any products from Radical Skincare before?

2013 Favourites: The Home Fragrance

I've never been much of a candle/home fragrance lover. I used to love buying them but I would never bother using them, but 2013 saw a change in that with me moving into my student house in my beautiful bedroom. I became obsessed with perfecting the room and fell in love with home decor and in turn home fragrance. I've started a love with Yankee Candle's. I've only got one jar but have been obsessed with the samplers as I love popping them in little tea light holders from Tiger. I love trying out all of the scents and it's the same with the wax tarts, I've got quite the collection. Another love is the Home Fragrance range from The Body Shop, my favourite candle is definitely the Mandarin and Tangelo Candle, the scent is beautiful, super strong and fills the room. Another favourite from their range are their home fragrance oils. I have a beautiful oil burner and a large collection of the oils; my favourites would have to be the Pomegranate and Raspberry scent along with the Christmas Cranberry Scent.

I love trying out new candles, it's actually become my new obsession so please post all of your recommendations below!

2013 Favourites: The Body Care

I'm not as much of a lover of body products as I probably should be. I don't really find them that exciting as they just feel so routine. I need to be inspired! This year, probably in the more latter part I have been getting into it a lot more, working at The Body Shop definitely helped, and these are a few of my favourites.

For hands, I love the Rituals Ginkgo's Secret Hand Balm, it's super moisturising, it sinks in well and the scent is to die for. My go-to body moisturiser is The Body Shop's Shea Body Butter, it's super luxurious and it smells lovely! It feels like such a treat when using it. The Body Shop's Satsuma Shower Gel is one of my all time favourites of the year and is probably the one I have the biggest stash of. Not only is it great for the shower, it's amazing for a bubble bath; the bubbles literally smell of satsuma, just don't sniff it too closely, or the bubbles will go up your nose. Oops! The Sranrom Zesty Starfruit Body Scrub is amazing, super exfoliating and the citrus scent is so refreshing.

I am definitely getting into Body products so much more and I've started a stash to carry on trying. Any recommendations?

MUJI Candles

You might all realise by now that I have grown quite obsessed to candles and am always looking for more to try. MUJI candles are so affordable at £3.50 each and the scent is amazing. I wouldn't say you buy them for the beautiful packaging, but I do think that it is okay. They have a great range of scents and I can imagine there is something for everyone. My first was the Kaki and honestly, I can't even tell you how amazing it smells. Just go in store and have a sniff of them all, trust me you won't regret it. I also have the Strawberry and Watermelon, a very fresh scent and the Cinnamon and Mandarin which reminds me of a mixture of mandarin, my favourite scent with a twist of Christmas. It's not my usual scent, but I love it for a bit of a change. A lot cheaper than Yankee Candles but with a very similar scent effect.

What are your favourite candles?

The No Foundation Face

I'm not much of a foundation wearer. Perhaps I just haven't found the right one yet? It doesn't stop me buying them to try them out, that'd be the beauty obsessed makeup lover in me but there is this one look that I am forever going back to: The no foundation face. I stick to moisturising my skin after cleansing and toning and then pop on a bit (or a lot) of concealer where I need it and blend. I usually opt for the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Moisturiser with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer as they are both my total favourites at the minute, you can probably tell this by the near empty tub of moisturiser and the worn off tube of concealer though. Well loved? I think so.

What is your base of choice?

2013 Favourites: The Fragrance

Back to the 2013 Favourites and today we're talking Fragrance. I don't often stray away from my all time favourite perfume; Marc Jacobs Daisy. This has been my scent for as long as I can remember, the scent is beautiful as is the bottle and it's just me. I wish I could expand my perfume collection further, Victor and Rolf Flower Bomb and Paco Rabanne Lady Million are definitely on my list but it is such a commitment purchasing one. I can never quite bring myself to do it. New Years resolution for 2014? Along with my all time favourite, I made a new one. Since working at The Body Shop, I've fallen in love with the Satusma range and the Satsuma Body Mist is just as good as the rest of the range. It's such a refreshing scent and I love it for the summer time.

I vow to expand my collection in 2014, I need to. What we're you're 2013 Fragrance favourites?
