LIP WEEK: Orange/Coral Lipstick Collection

L-R Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 040, Barry M in 147, Topshop in Infrared and ELF Matte Lip Colour in Coral

First off I'm going to say that I don't suit an orange lipstick at all so the Revlon and Topshop one sadly go unloved. As much as I wish I suited them and have tried to wear them, they just look horrible with my skin tone and so I always end up taking it off and going for a different shade anyway. My favourite in this collection is the ELF Matte Lip Colour in Coral. I love the Matte Lip Colours, they apply easily and I love the colour range. I really want to get more but only have the 3 nude shades, I did used to have Praline but sadly lost that one.

Revlon Photo Ready Perfecting Primer

Revlon Photo Ready Perfecting Primer - you can pick this at Boots here

I actually won this primer in a Glamour competition and generally isn't the type of product I would usually pick up. I can't really say that I primers in my usual make up routine and so wouldn't ever think of picking one up.

Boots says:

'Lightweight primer smoothes and softens skin to create the perfect canvas. Reduces the appearance of pores and fine lines. Wear alone or under foundation. Lights, camera, PhotoReady!'

This product feels so soft to the skin and applies really nicely. If your in need of a primer, I can't see why this wouldn't do the job but for me, really I feel as though its really an unnecessary step in my make-up routine. I felt exactly the same when I used the Benefit Porefessional... I don't know. I just really don't get the need for these. Perhaps I'm applying it wrong. If anyone could shed any light on this, definitely let me know!

Have you tried this product?

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - £7.99 at Boots

I'm sure you've all heard so much about these Revlon lip products as they have been around for a while now, so I wont go on too much about it. The first thing I will say about this is that I think I picked up the wrong colour for me as orange just doesn't work with my skin tone  I feel that because of this it is very unlikely that I will ever use this product.

The product itself is like a tinted lip balm or a very sheer lipstick. It is buildable and so the colour payout can be made slightly more intense if you wish. I really like the texture of the lip balm and if it wasn't for the colour I would probably wear it although there is one other part that I can't really deal with about this product and that is the smell. To me it smells like dirt mixed with mint and although I had heard this about this product prior to purchasing it, I thought I'd be able to get past it and use it anyway but honestly, I just cant. The scent is just so strong and I really can't get past it. It could be different if I had a nicer shade that suited me better but as I don't this is all I have to go on and really I don't want to risk buying another to not like it also.

Have you tried this product? What did you think?
