#VeryOnTrend: A/W Party Edit & Fashion Show

I'm not usually one for dressing up fully. I'll often feel to dressy and pop on my new beloved Puma Suede's, a pair of flat boots or some flatforms to bring an outfit from being super dressy to that little bit less but when picking this outfit from Very.co.uk, something changed and I fancied a little bit of a change and a little bit more glitz and glamour.

As you can see in the pictures above I went for a virtually all black outfit with a hint of navy blue and not forgetting the obligatory glitter... I fell in love with this River Island via. Very.co.uk High Neck Glitter Panelled dress* as soon as I saw it. It's just so me! I shortened it a little though as I'm just a tad  shorter than the model wearing it on the site. I added the River Island via. Very.co.uk Faux Fur Collar Jacket in Black* and this gorgeous Navy Velvet Chain Shoulder Bag with Gold Detailing* and finished it off with a pair of heeled black ankle boots, I went for my faves in my stash and of course, they're the Topshop Allegras (firm favourites in my wardrobe since I started this blog!). A super simple outfit, but the glitter on the dress makes it that bit fancier. Perfect for the Christmas party season and I just know I'll get so much wear out of it.

So you're probably wondering what this post is actually all about? I was invited down to the #veryontrend event with Cosmopolitan Magazine and Very.co.uk and of course I wouldn't turn down to see Very's Party Edit... and Sam Faiers new collection. After a rifle through the rails of beautiful sequinned dresses and super sleek playsuits with the lovely Ashleigh (who actually took my pictures, so thanks lovely!) we sat down to the watch the catwalk show of all of the pieces in action. Here are a few of my picks... Can I own them all please?

The collection is so dreamy! All of the black items I just need... Love doesn't quite cover it. It was a lovely evening with so many lovely ladies and I now have a wish list the length of my arm. Christmas maybe?!

What's your favourite piece?

Dressing Up: The Zoo

During Freshers Fortnight we had a night out at The Rainforest Cafe near Picadilly Circus. The fancy dress theme was the Zoo. My friend Holly and I dressed as Zebra's and Kathryn dressed as a leopard!

Me: Dress - Boohoo via Ebay, Ears - Ebay, Boots - Topshop
Kathryn (Middle): Playsuit - H&M, Shoes - Mango
Holly (Right): Dress - Ebay, Shoes - River Island, Ears - Ebay

This picture is of us just after we got ready in our flat in our Uni Halls. We then pre-drank a little bit and then headed over to the Rainforest Cafe. I wouldn't really say it was the best night of Freshers as I think the venue lacked a little bit, it was very expensive (just as everywhere is in London!) and it wasn't as busy as we had hoped. The night bus back to Uni is also pretty dire, so it's only usually worth it after a good night out.

(Images via Facebook: here and here)

Another couple of images from the night. The venue is beautiful, I used to go there when I was younger with my family for special meals out. I can remember it so well, the elephants used to be my favourite! So I would say the night was worth going to again, if only for the venue and remembering being there when I was younger!

Face: Garnier BB Cream, Garnier Tinted Eye Roll On, Benefit High Beam
Brows: HD Brow Kit
Eyes: Barry M Intense Eyeliner Pen; Black, Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara, Silver Glitter (Can't remember the make - sorry!)
Cheeks - Topshop Cream Blush; Neon Rose
Lips - MAC Lipstick; Shy Girl

In regard to my make up on the day, I had planned to wear red lipstick, but while I was doing it I thought a nude lip with a glitter eye would work effectively. I was happy with what we were all wearing, in some ways the getting ready was more exciting than the night as a whole.

Here's a little promo video of the night. We are in there, see if you can spot us...

Have you ever been? What would you have dressed up as?

Wishlist #1

Thought I'd start to do wishlist posts as there are so many things around I'd love to be the owner of at the moment. Currently trying to spend as little as possible as I'm saving for University, so unfortunately the majority of this will be staying on my wishlist.

1. This Topshop dress is beautiful! Really loving the cut-out shoulder look at the moment. Haven't actually tried any on for myself, but I really want to! The print on this dress is stunning, really like brights and neons at the moment.

2. These boots are amazing! They're obviously trying to look like JC Lita's but I'd never be able to afford those (not that I can afford these either!). The print on them is amazing. I'd wear them with a really simple outfit to make them stand out! Really need something like these in my life!

3. I've got a thing for collared necklaces at the moment, keep seeing them around and falling in love every time. I definitely wouldn't spend £30 on a necklace from Topshop though, not right now anyway but it is a beauty! Loving anything with spikes on at the minute.

4. Keep seeing swatches of this around the blogosphere at the moment and I'm in love. I love anything neon and orange has to be one of my favourite shades and so this is perfect! May have to cheekily purchase this from ASOS with my premier delivery. We'll see...

5. I keep hearing so many good things about this mask, usually the normal one but the idea of an overnight mask excites me so much! I'm quite lazy when it comes to this sort of thing and so leaving it until the morning sounds perfect for me!

What's on your wishlist's at the moment?
