I love guacamole. I felt like that was the only way to start this Eating in London post, right? I'm talking the Mexican fast food joint, Chilango*. I headed to the branch in Islington, London to get my hands on one of their burritos to see whether it hit the spot. I love me some Mexican food, and it's not just because of the guacamole (okay, it pretty much is) but I just love the flavours and the heat and all of the gorgeous spices.
Chilango is one of the coolest restaurants I've seen. I don't know how to quite describe it, but it's one of those places that you just need to go down and see for your self. The decor is super fun and we weren't stuck for things to look at while we waited for our burritos to be made. As soon as I spied the prawns on the menu I was sold. A spiced prawn burrito with extra guacamole, yum! You get to pick your own toppings and the staff will happily let you know what goes best with your selected filling. As I've mentioned before I don't eat meat, though I do eat fish (so a pescetarian) so I would have either gone for the vegetarian option, or what did go for with the delicious prawns and I was more than happy with my choice. As you can tell by the chicken in the picture above, I didn't take that snap as it was too difficult to take an appetising picture of a burrito with extra guac, so you know, this one will have to do, and of course all credit goes to Chilango. You'll just have to imagine the prawns, mmm! I can't remember the exact other toppings I went for, but just go with what you fancy and it all really depends on how hot you like it!
Great quick food, I actually took mine home to eat on the sofa in front of a good movie but glugged the fresh lemonade they had on offer on the way home as it was just too delicious not too. I'm not much of a fizzy drink fan so whenever I spy a fresh lemonade I'm always so excited and this one totally lived up to my expectations. It's really great food, perfect for grabbing to take home for dinner or for a quick meal while your out, though I would say it's a little on the pricey side but the taste was great so no complaints there.
